Montrose Health Group Launches Right to Choose Scheme for ADHD and Autism

Montrose Health Group Launches Right to Choose Pathway for ADHD and Autism Assessments

Montrose Health Group Sheffield is proud to announce the launch of its Right to Choose (RTC) pathway, expanding patient access to NHS-funded ADHD and Autism assessments and treatment for eligible patients across England.

The new service reflects Montrose Health Group’s ongoing commitment to improving access to high-quality, compassionate, and clinically robust neurodevelopmental care.

Under NHS England’s Right to Choose framework, eligible patients registered with a GP in England have the legal right to request referral to a provider of their choice for specialist assessment. The pathway is designed to offer greater flexibility and choice for individuals and families seeking ADHD and Autism assessments, particularly where local waiting lists may be extensive.

Montrose's wait time for patients begins on the 1st June at 0 weeks for those outside the South Yorkshire area, and 13 weeks for those within the South Yorkshire area, and will be available to those age 6+ within England.

Montrose Health Group’s dedicated ADHD and Autism service combines clinical excellence with a person-centred approach, delivering assessments through a highly experienced multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, specialist nurses, and therapeutic practitioners both online and at our bespoke clinic in Shefield.

The service will offer:

  • ADHD and Autism assessments delivered in line with recognised clinical standards and NICE guidance

  • Assessments for children, adolescents, and adults age 6+

  • Flexible access through Sheffield-based appointments and secure online pathways where appropriate

  • Comprehensive assessment, feedback, and onward prescribing and support planning

  • A compassionate, discreet, and supportive environment designed around patient needs

“Access to timely assessment and support can be life-changing,” said CEO, Jonathan Edgeley at Montrose Health Group. “We are delighted to extend our existing private services through the Right to Choose pathway, helping more individuals and families access the specialist neurodevelopmental care they need with dignity, clarity and confidence.”

Montrose Health Group has built a reputation for delivering tailored mental healthcare through its CQC-regulated services and specialist expertise in ADHD, Autism, mental health, and addiction support. The launch of the Right to Choose pathway marks an important step in broadening access to evidence-based assessment and care.

Patients interested in accessing the Right to Choose pathway must speak with their GP or Rotherham Schools about referral options and eligibility to access this.
